WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT
Join Us In Celebrating
GLO-PAR
GLOBAL PEACE AND RECONCILIATION
The Inauguration of
A Day of World Peace and Reconciliation

Dear Friends,

Park Central Little Rock is A Global Humanitarian Initiative…A Peoples’ Park. We believe the issue of world peace and reconciliation embraces the deepest hopes of all peoples and remains humanity’s guiding inspiration.

GLO-PAR was founded to create a greater awareness and provide an opportunity for people as individuals, organizations, and nations around the world to find ways to share A DAY OF PEACE AND RECONCILIATION TOGETHER.
The United Nations proclaimed September 21, 1981 as the first day of International peace and in September 2001 they expanded the day to include a call for global ceasefire and non-violence and invited all nations and people to honor a cessation of hostilities for the duration of the day.
In association with the city of Little Rock, Arkansas, our Inaugural City, we are asking the UN, Mayors, Governors, the President of the United States and Global Leaders to support our peace effort. We will also check with the UN to determine the activity on Peace and Reconciliation on January 1, 2009.

We plan to notify national and international media that the people in the United States will do all that we can to help the global community celebrate a day of NON-VIOLENCE. ZERO VIOLENCE.

I hope that you will support our efforts for Peace and Reconciliation and log in on our Blog and My Face Book page with your story and pictures for this special day.

Let’s Support

ZERO VIOLENCE

Our goal is to encourage the citizens of the world to find ways to take a minute for Peace and Reconciliation (PAR) on this day and to renew our commitment to the GLOBAL PEACE AND RECONCILIATION process by finding ways to take a minute for peace each day in hopes of making every day a Day of Peace and Reconciliation.

A list of suggested activities is provided for this historical event.

Please join us on January 1, 2009, in this grass roots, ground swell movement for GLOBAL PEACE AND RECONCILIATION.

May the Spirit of GLO-PAR be with you,

Letter to Congressman John Boozman

PARK CENTRAL LITTLE ROCK

Congressman John Boozman
213 W. Monroe Street, Suite K
Suite K

Attn: Mr. Jake Fair

Dear Congressman Boozman:

Does the world seem filled with issues of conflict, violence and strife?
Racial and religious discrimination, prejudice, exploitation of children, hunger, disease, neighborhood and environmental deterioration, and genocide consume our lives.

The list is inexhaustible. Life is rife with strife.

On behalf of Park Central Little Rock, A Global Humanitarian Initiative and Park , we are writing to ask that you kindly support our plans to expand the worldwide peace effort and also urge President George Bush to proclaim January 1, 2009 as the inauguration of the 1st Annual Day of World Peace and Reconciliation. It is our hope that the City of Little Rock, AR and the State of Arkansas will serve as the "Inaugural Launch City and State" in this movement.

Peace Day was first celebrated in Chicago, Illinois on September 7, 1978.

In 1981 the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed that the International Day of Peace be "devoted to commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples."

At the 20th anniversary of the UN General Assembly in 2002, the United Nations expanded the observance of the International Day of Peace to include "the call for a day of global ceasefire and non-violence, and invited all nations and people to a cessation of hostilities for the duration of the day." The UN General Assembly set September 21 as the permanent date for the International Day of Peace.

Park Central Little Rock is working in association with the City of Little Rock, Arkansas to build bridges in the global community to spearhead a rippling, groundswell, grassroots movement and campaign to urge all Mayors and City Councils, Governors and Legislators, the House Speaker and Legislators, President of the United States and Cabinet Members, International Heads of Countries, and people of all nations, to honor the call for global peace and reconciliation on January 1, 2009, the Inauguration of The 1st Annual World Day of Peace and Reconciliation.

Our goal is to contribute to the global awareness of peace and reconciliation by finding ways to take a minute for peace and reconciliation each day in hopes of making every day a day of Global Peace And Reconciliation (Glo-PAR).

A list of suggested activities is provided for this celebratory and historical event.

Thank you for the opportunity to share in this day of peace and reconciliation.

At Midnight on January 1, 2009, we encourage everyone to share in the One Minute of Silence for World Peace and Reconciliation in Hopes of Rippling One Minute of Silence Into a full day of ZERO VIOLENCE.

Sincerely yours,

Park Central Little Rock
